Motorcycle Number Plate Sizes
The standard UK motorcycle number plate size is 228mm x 178mm (9 x 7 inches) for the rear plate. Motorcycles in the UK are only required to display a rear number plate, unlike cars which require both front and rear plates.
We also offer custom sizes for imported motorcycles, oversized bikes, and specialist applications. If your bike requires a non-standard plate size, contact us and we can manufacture to your specifications while maintaining road legality.
Legal Requirements for Motorcycle Plates
UK law requires motorcycle number plates to be manufactured to BS AU 145e standard by a DVLA-registered supplier. The plate must use reflective material, display the correct Charles Wright font with standard spacing, and include the supplier name and postcode.
Since October 2015, all new motorcycle plates must also display the British Standard number (BS AU 145e) on the plate. All our motorcycle plates include these mandatory markings.
Documents Required for Motorcycle Plates
