FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Follow our step-by-step guide to fit your new number plates correctly and safely.

METHOD 1 — FITTING WITH SCREWS

1

Remove Your Old Number Plate

  • Open any plastic screw covers on your existing plate.
  • Undo the screws and set them aside.
  • If the plate is held with double-sided adhesive pads, carefully work it free — these can be very adhesive so take your time and use a flat tool to help loosen it.
2

Drill Holes Into Your New Plate

Always use a 7mm gold drill bit and drill slowly. DO NOT force a screw into a smaller hole — this will crack the plate and is not covered under warranty.

  • Use your old number plate as a template to get the hole positions right.
  • Recommended: drill from the back of the plate to get the cleanest finish.
  • Alternatively, apply masking tape to the front first to prevent chipping, then drill through.
3

Secure the Plate with Screws

  • Align the plate correctly on the vehicle.
  • Use your old screws or new ones to secure it.
  • Tighten firmly so there is no movement.

METHOD 2 — FITTING WITH ADHESIVE TAPE

1

Remove Your Old Number Plate

  • Follow the same removal process as the screw method above.
2

Clean Both Surfaces

  • Thoroughly clean the mounting area on your vehicle.
  • Clean the back of your new number plate.
  • Allow both surfaces to dry completely — this is crucial for a strong bond.
3

Apply Adhesive Pads to the Plate

  • Peel one side of each adhesive pad and stick them firmly to the back of your plate.
  • Use more pads for a stronger hold — though be aware this makes future removal harder.
  • Do not touch the exposed adhesive surface with your fingers.
4

Press Plate onto Your Vehicle

  • Position the plate carefully before committing — once pressed it's hard to reposition.
  • Press firmly for a minimum of 10 seconds across the entire plate.
  • Leave for a few hours before driving to let the adhesive fully bond.

TIPS & REMINDERS

  • Always use a 7mm gold drill bit — never force a screw into a smaller hole.
  • Ensure your number plate is DVLA-compliant before fitting.
  • Check your plates meet the legal size and font requirements for your vehicle type.
  • If using adhesive, allow several hours for the bond to cure before driving.
